Thoughts on a Fall Friday

Happy Friday friends! This weekend has been a blur for me. Here are a few things on my mind to share:

~Last weekend was General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It’s broadcast from Salt Lake City, Utah that we watch in 4 sessions (8 hours total). We get to hear from a living Prophet of God (!!!!) and receive guidance and counsel and so much light. One of my favorite talks this time was by Elder Kearon. He talked about how flying a glider is very similar to our lives. He told us about lift and sink- the upward current of air that is exhilarating and draws you upward (lift), and sink that pulls you down toward the ground and a potentially unsafe landing. He gave counsel and direction about how to turn toward the Savior who is the One that loves to lift, and decisively turn away from sink as we feels its affects pulling us down. Here is a link in case you’d like to check it out (and I highly recommend that you do!). https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2026/10/27kearon?lang=eng

~Last night we enjoyed a delicious Greek salad. You might want to try this! I love Mels Kitchen Cafe and she came through once again. Here’s the link to the recipe: https://www.melskitchencafe.com/greek-pasta-salad/

~This week we found out that some kittens need a home. Against my better judgement we’re going to go see them today. It’s a dangerous arrangement but way too fun to pass up the opportunity with my 2 teenagers who are quite excited about the outing. Wish me luck!

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Love,

Laura
